Bronze 863 (Manganese Bronze) Product Guide
Applications | Specifications | Mechanical and Chemical Data | Tolerances
Overview
Bronze 863, also known as Manganese Bronze, offers high strength and high durability. It excells at heavy load applications, but performs best at low speeds and with high lubrication. 863 is rated as Good for Coated Metal Arc Welding, but Poor for soldering, brazing, Oxyacetylene Welding, and Gas Shielded Arc Welding. It is typically used in bushings, bearings, gears, gibs, screws, nuts, pins, valve stems, hydraulic cylinder parts, steel mill equipment, wood pulp machinery, marine tools, and earth moving machinery.
