Overview (385)
Brass alloys 385 and 280 have different mechanical properties but these two types of brass are similar in appearance. Additionally, 385 and 280 both have exceptional corrosion resistant qualities and perform well when hot working the material. Brass 385, also known as "architectural bronze", is highly machinable and is typically used in architectural applications and ornamental hardware. Brass 280, also known as "Muntz Brass or Muntz Metal", has a higher strength and hardness than other brass alloys and is typically used in marine applications.
