Stainless Steel Round Rod 303 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel specifically designed for improved machinability due to the addition of sulfur or selenium. While offering good corrosion resistance, its weldability is generally not as good as other common austenitic grades. This alloy machines exceptionally well, producing clean chips and allowing for higher cutting speeds, which increases manufacturing efficiency.
