4130 Chromoly tubing is a higher strength alternative to carbon steel. The higher strength to weight ratio allows thinner walled tube to be used in applications where weight is a concern like aerospace, bicycle, firearm, and automotive (racing) applications. The addition of chromium and molybdenum to the alloy increases hardenability, corrosion resistance, and toughness. These attributes make this a great material to use in challenging conditions where more stress resistance is required.
